Whether it be extreme storms and precipitation or rather drought or limited hours of daylight, every part of the world comes with its own challenges and appropriate solutions.

BOAL greenhouses systems can be found in deserts and tropical climates; in earthquake risk zones and/or regions that are prone to flooding; and in areas with few sunshine hours, or a lot of snow, or a great deal of rain. In each of these cases, we were able to find the right solution for that particular situation.

Due to extreme weather events, more and more crops are lost. Growing crops in a controlled environment (be it in a glass or a polymer film greenhouse) makes us less susceptible to the consequences of extreme weather, and gives growers greater control of the quality, continuity and yield of their crops.

BOAL Systems combines individual elements such as roofing materials, ventilation technology and gutters to help growers achieve the best possible yield. In designing and performing the calculations for the greenhouse roof to be constructed, we take into account the requirements for the cultivation of particular crops, as well as crop loads. Every crop deserves its own greenhouse!

To be able to lead the pack in terms of sustainability, we must ensure that our greenhouses perform exceptionally well in terms of energy-conserving climate control, organic crop protection, segregated waste streams, re-use of condensed water and rain, light pollution, solar screens and energy screens.

REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT

While the world demands more food and food that is produced more safely, it also faces climatological and geographical challenges. Extreme weather events, earthquakes, overpopulation and erosion caused by extreme drought are negatively affecting the availability of fertile agricultural soil, clean water and drinking water, and energy.

In association with our partners in the greenhouse construction industry and other commercial partners, we seek to find solutions to these major challenges. Our greenhouse solutions have been adapted to ensure they are optimised for local cultivation conditions, while our BOAL Group partners use ingenious methods to integrate the requirements imposed on, for instance, water management, chemical-free crop cultivation and alternative sources of energy into our projects. This allows us to reduce our ecological footprint.
