Lumenex™ Venlo sandwich system
smart integration

With the Lumenex® Sandwich System, BOAL Systems makes it possible to expand a Lumenex® Venlo glass roof system to a roof with 40, 50, 60 or 80 mm thick sandwich panels. The system consists of a small number of tight-fitting transition profiles allowing panels to be quickly and efficiently mounted onto a Lumenex® Venlo gutter in either the gutter end (end) or gutter side (side) direction. It is possible to build through from glass to sandwich as well as from sandwich to sandwich.

The Lumenex® Venlo Sandwich greenhouse roof system is ideal for the integrated realization of processing and storage areas, as well as for cold storage and boiler houses. The system is ideally suited for easy connection of insulation panels to the glass greenhouse structure.

  • EASY INTEGRATION OF 40, 50, 60 AND 80 MM SANDWICH PANELS IN GLASS GREENHOUSES;
  • HIGH WATERTIGHTNESS DUE TO DOUBLE SEALING IN THE COVER PLATES;
  • THE GUTTER REMAINs FREE FOR ROOF WASHERS AND REPAIR TRUCKS BECAUSE THE ROOF SYSTEM IS MOUNTED IN THE GUTTER'S BAR SECTION.

Technical specifications

The use of tight-fitting transition profiles on the gutter creates a strong and solid sandwich deck system. In addition, due to the tight and narrow profiles, there is minimal light interception in the greenhouse when extending from a glass greenhouse to the sandwich deck.

The basis of the Lumenex Venlo sandwich deck system is created by attaching the gutter with brackets to steel columns with a gutter plate-column connection. In order to create additional load-bearing capacity in the deck, given the low melting factor of the sandwich panels, underlays are fitted between the columns in the gutter length direction. This should only be done under the gutters where the sandwich panels are placed.

The gutter edge is first suspended and secured to the gutter. The edge of the gutter forms the support surface for the sandwich system. After the 40, 50, 60 or 80 mm thick sandwich panel has been installed on the gutter edge, the cover strip is installed. This cover strip is always pre-equipped with rubber and EPDM tape for proper sealing of the deck and is suitable for the chosen panel thickness. It is also higher for each greater panel thickness. The sandwich panels are connected to each other directly from the gutter on the inside of the deck or via an optional ridge. On the outside of the deck (top), a flashing closes the construction at the top.
