Borussia Dortmund wins 4th edition BOAL International U14 Tournament

On Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday August 20th, the 4th edition of the BOAL International U14 Tournament took place at the 's-Gravenzande Juliana Sportpark for players under 14 years. FC 's-Gravenzande succeeded in composing an appealing participant field from seven countries, which led to a tournament that was fascinating from start to finish.

The Dutch top three were also present at the tournament. Ajax and Feyenoord scored disappointingly with the 7th and 12th place in the final ranking respectively. PSV, on the other hand, reached into the final. FC 's-Gravenzande itself, participating with a one-year-older team than the BVOs, performed just above expectations. After the comfortless last place last year, the 5th place was seized. There was even more ‘s-Gravenzand success, because Tim Otto was named best keeper of the tournament. Julian Brandes of Ajax was the best player.

Like the last year, the tournament had a German winner. Then Bayer Leverkusen (now 10th place) took the cup home, winning in the final at Borussia Dortmund. Now it was the same Borussia that at the end of the day, took the cup with the big ears from the hands of managing director Frank Boers (sponsor BOAL Systems). In the final, the black and yellow team smashed PSV, which was defeated 4-0.

The top three were completed by Chelsea, the 4th place finish was for Belgian Club Brugge. The fair play trophy went to the Japanese Consadole Sapporo, which achieved the 15th place in the final ranking. See you next year!
